Question #489

Must every cab-operated overhead travelling crane have a zero-position interlock?

Czy każda suwnica sterowana z kabiny musi posiadać blokadę zerową?

a
Always when controllers or master controllers are used.

zawsze w przypadku stosowania nastawników lub sterowników

b
A zero-position interlock is not required if the main contactor automatically disconnects when the supply voltage fails.

blokada zerowa nie jest wymagana, gdy po zaniku napięcia stycznik główny rozłącza się automatycznie

c
Always when controllers or master controllers without return springs are used.

zawsze w przypadku stosowania nastawników lub sterowników bez sprężyn zwrotnych

Correct answer

d
Only when all crane mechanisms have variable-frequency drives.

tylko przy napędzie falownikowym wszystkich mechanizmów suwnicy

Why?

A zero-position interlock (blokada zerowa) is required for controllers or master controllers without return springs because a lever can remain in an operating position. It prevents re-enabling the crane until the controls are set to zero. The main contactor (stycznik główny) disconnecting during a power failure does not itself check the lever positions.
